Am Kanal Wetland

The project reimagines an underused urban corridor as a living landscape system—one that is adaptive, resilient, and ecologically productive. By transforming hard, impermeable surfaces into a dynamic wetland environment, the intervention shifts the site’s role from passive infrastructure to active urban ecology. The design adopts a holistic landscape approach, integrating biodiversity enhancement, public use, and sustainable water management into a unified spatial framework. Rather than separating ecological function from human experience, the project allows natural processes to structure movement, occupation, and seasonal change, creating a landscape that evolves over time and responds to environmental conditions.
