Tomáš Vojtíšek Receives the Stanislav Hanzl Award
8/1/2026
In 2025, he participated in two consecutive grants of the faculty Academic Competition regarding menstrual product dispensers. He initiated and coordinated a design-build workshop for their design in 2024. The goal was to design functional and aesthetically high-quality dispensers while raising awareness about menstrual poverty. Prototypes were exhibited in the faculty atrium and subsequently installed in restrooms throughout the building.
The project sparked interest from other CTU faculties and departments (FCE, FEE, FIT, MIAS) as well as other institutions and universities (e.g., AVU). The Faculty of Architecture handled the production and distribution of the dispensers. The project also won the Public Award at Designblok 2025.
"Tomáš Vojtíšek is not only an outstanding student with excellent academic results, but he also contributes significantly and selflessly to the life of the faculty. He actively contributes to the development of the environment at the FA and initiates projects that reach beyond its borders. With this nomination, we wish to recognize not only Tomáš's talent and creativity but, above all, his ability to connect architectural thinking with social responsibility and care for the quality of the environment in which we live and study," states the proposal justification.
The award was established by the Board of the Stanislav Hanzl CTU Endowment Fund to fulfill and further deepen the legacy of the university's first post-November 1989 rector. It is awarded annually to CTU students based on nominations from individual faculties. Prerequisites include excellent academic standing and participation in the Student Grant Competition or another significant activity. Award recipients also receive a financial prize.
