Complexity, Honesty, Authenticity. The CTU FA 2024–25 Yearbook has been released
11/3/2026
The central part consists of a curated selection of student projects prepared by architect Tomáš Hradečný as a guest curator and Jan Stibral as a permanent member of the editorial board. This time, their approach was based on the criterion of complexity and brings an attentive look at school works—valuing honesty, authenticity, and the ability to perceive architecture, landscape, and design in a broader context. "We appreciate approaches that can look beneath the surface, reflect both strengths and weaknesses, are true to themselves and, above all, do not create false illusions—neither by their name, nor their function, nor their material or image. These are characteristics that can distinguish our profession from banal construction production in the future," say Tomáš Hradečný and Jan Stibral.
For the first time in the history of the new yearbook edition, a new chapter on science and research has been added. The Faculty of Architecture is not only a school of design studios but also a place where theoretical and experimental approaches are developed, providing a breeding ground that supports academic research and its practical application. The publication is complemented by four interviews that offer the perspectives of both students and faculty members.
The fourth edition of the yearbook series also features an artistic layer by a guest artist. This time, the role was taken on by photographers Karolína Matušková and Lenka Glisníková, working under the name Shotby.us. In their photographs, the authors captured the environment of the faculty building and Prague itself. The composition of images from various locations is linked by the abstract language of close-up shots, which push everyday motifs into new contexts.
The yearbook is available at ArtMap bookstores, Juditina věž (also on their e-shop), and IKAN.
