Archihunter Adam Štěch at FA: The Elements Exhibition Will Present Unique Architectural and Interior Details of the 20th Century

Historian and researcher Adam Štěch (@okolo_architecture) is well-known in both Czech and international contexts for his articles and curatorial projects, often working under the Okolo brand in a team with Matěj Činčera and Jan Kloss. His great passion is searching for often forgotten architectural treasures of the 20th century. He strives to map not only the buildings themselves but also their interiors, which in the past were often created as custom-designed works.

The collection of photographs is divided into sections such as lighting, seating, storage spaces, railings, tables, doors, handles, windows, and floors. It demonstrates the diversity, formal differences, and similarities of decorative and functional elements. By comparing related elements, one can analyze the contexts and transformations of architecture and design on a global scale. Approximately one-tenth of the collection commemorates the work of individuals who were active at CTU.

The photographs, presented as paper prints on aluminum frames, can be viewed in the atriums of the Faculty of Architecture of the Czech Technical University from April 20 to May 15. The grand opening will take place on Wednesday, April 29, at 6:30 PM, featuring a lecture by Adam Štěch titled Around the World in Search of Modernism. A guided tour of the exhibition will be held on May 11 at 6:30 PM.
