The RCIH has prepared the book Fragments of Heritage, which maps the transformations of industrial architecture between 2020 and 2025

On Wednesday, 20 May 2026, the presentation of the book Fragments of Heritage: Transformations of Industrial Architecture 2020–2025 took place at Station 6. The book was prepared by the Research Centre for Industrial Heritage of the Faculty of Architecture of the CTU in Prague.

The publication Fragments of Heritage presents 31 projects for the new use of industrial buildings in the Czech Republic, implemented between 2020 and 2025. As the book's editor, Benjamin Fragner, explains: "the presented projects, in the widest possible selection, demonstrate the differences in the presented solutions, the authors' approach, and also the decisions as to which of the preserved layers is more essential, which part of the additional and later modifications and interventions is crucial and beneficial for the present." Industrial traces, which overlap, complement, and contradict each other over time—sometimes purely utilitarian, temporary, but also timeless, responding to the transformation of technology and architecture—are part of the atmosphere, development, stability, change, and memory. The authors of the presented projects also contributed to the book with their personal perspectives.

The book was produced with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic and the Faculty of Architecture of the CTU in Prague as part of the project Industrial Architecture of the Second Half of the 20th Century: Extension, Transformation, and Identity (DH23P03OVV016) within the NAKI III programme for the support of applied research in national and cultural identity.
