Among the nominations for the Czech Architecture Prize 2020 are not only the works of our pedagogues but also students

The Czech Chamber of Architects has announced 27 buildings which were nominated by an international jury in the prestigious selection of the 5th year of the Czech Architecture Prize. The winners will be announced at a gala dinner on November 24. Among the nominees are not only projects of our pedagogues but also the Kømen shelter in Špindlerův Mlýn in the Giant Mountains, a design-build project of students from the Department of Architectural Design II.

Among the authors of the nominated buildings are Miroslav Cikán and Pavla Melková from the MCA studio for the Jan Palach Memorial project in Všetaty, Vojtěch Sosna and his colleagues from Bod architects for the design of the new Prague 7 City Hall, Štěpán Valouch and Jiří Opočenský from ov-a architekti for Aparthotel sv. Vavřinec and the headquarters of the Lasvit company and a change in the use of the space of the ICT coal mine.

Among the experienced architects, our students Anna Blažková, Erik Ebringer, Julie Kopecká, Michael Košař and Michaela Křižáková from the studio Hlaváček – Čeněk also succeeded in the nominations with the cozy Kømen at the Balvanův Waterfall near Špindlerův Mlýn.
