This diploma thesis explores the possibilities of parametric design in authorial
furniture and its connection to digital fabrication and user personalization. Based
on research into parametric design, ready-to-assemble furniture, UX/UI
configurators, and manufacturing technologies, the thesis formulates principles
for designing a product prepared for controlled customization. The practical
outcome is the H3 shelving system, whose dimensions, composition, and
manufacturing data can be generated using custom C++ code. The thesis verifies
the design system through the physical production of a prototype and outlines
its further development towards a web-based configurator and the forma100
platform.
