Housing Estates of Small Towns: Chotěboř Na Chmelnici Housing Estate

The diploma thesis addresses the issue of public spaces in housing estates in small towns. In the model area of the town of Chotěboř, all housing estates are analyzed, after which one of themthe Na Chmelnici housing estateis selected. For this site, a conceptual study of the housing estates public spaces is developed, responding to the current social, spatial, and environmental needs of residents. The proposal is based on the principles of nature-based solutions aimed at increasing climate resilience and the quality of public life in these spaces. The design verifies principles and approaches that can be applied in the revitalization of public spaces in housing estates in small towns.
