Annotation

This thesis examines the transformation of a former allotment garden community in Prague-Vysočany into a public park. The design is based on an analysis of the site at three spatial scales: the neighborhood scale, the scale of the Rokytka River meander, and the scale of the allotment garden community itself. The thesis also documents the process of the areas transformation and the gradual demolition of the original garden plots. The goal of the thesis is to create a landscape design that preserves the character and atmosphere of the site, builds on the history of the original allotment garden colony, and simultaneously facilitates the creation of a new public space. Emphasis is placed on adapting existing structures and utilizing the sites assets within a new context.
