Annotation

The diploma thesis focuses on the design of an urban and landscape concept for the revitalization of the surroundings of the Bystřička water reservoir, aiming to restore the recreational, cultural and environmental qualities of this exceptional area. It is based on an analysis of the sites natural, technical and social conditions and responds to the transformation of its significance over time. The design seeks to strengthen the relationship between landscape and people through sensitive interventions in the form of modifications to walking routes and public spaces, through landscape composition and up to architectural solutions for selected locations. The proposal draws on the natural structure of the landscape, opens new paths to the water, and offers places for encounter and everyday presence. The outcome is a proposal that works with the memory of the place, the rhythm of the landscape and the current needs of its users. It includes an analytical part, an overall site drawing and selected interventions at a closer scale, supplemented by sections, visualizations and recommendations for future development.
