Revitalization of the Kaolin Plant in Kadan

This diploma thesis addresses the revitalisation of the Kaolin Works complex in Kadaň. The proposal treats the industrial character of the building as an asset and seeks a new programme that preserves its genius loci. The result is a hybrid scheme combining a secondary school of applied arts with public cultural and community life. The architectural concept is rooted in a dialogue between new and existing double-height studios descend into the tectonics of the original industrial spaces, while existing structures become an integral part of the building's new identity.
