In 1968, a young student of the Czech Technical University in Klárov was crossing the park with the intention of changing to the tram. Unfortunately, one of the group of Soviet soldiers standing nearby shot her senselessly and without reason with a submachine gun. There was a doctor on the scene who immediately gave her first aid, but she succumbed to the consequences of her serious injury after being taken to the hospital. She left behind her husband Vladimir and a two-year-old son. This work is not about the victims of the occupation, but about those who are already carrying a difficult life situation on their shoulders. To improve it, I propose a community center with an asylum for all the needy in difficult situations. It will provide temporary or permanent housing, counseling, assistance and support from social workers. The goal of the work was to invent a space where people from different communities will meet at the same time. Space for living, work, leisure activities, relaxation. The building in question is a community center with temporary housing for residents of Malá Strana. The proposed object consists of three above-ground floors. There are apartments on the 2nd-3rd floors, which are entered from the pavilion, which runs along the entire length of the house from the inner side of the park. The ground floor consists of amenities for community center users as well as the general public. The building has a flat impassable roof. Studio or 1+1 apartments, which are entered from the pavilion, which is the entire length of the house from the inner side of the park. The ground floor consists of a cafe, gym, social workers' offices, day care room, clubhouse, lecture room, games room, art workshop and library. Each room has a separate barrier-free entrance from the inside of the park under the pavilion and two elevators. The apartment will primarily be used as temporary housing for people in need.
