This diploma thesis focuses on the architectural design of a new regional elementary school in the village of Dřevčice, intended primarily for the area of the town of Brandýs nad Labem and its wider surroundings. The project responds to the increasing demand for elementary education capacity in the region and addresses the placement and form of a new school complex within the rural context of the village. The aim of the thesis is to design a contemporary school building that meets current spatial, operational, and educational requirements while becoming an important element of regional development. The design concept emphasizes clear functional zoning, logical organization of operation, and the connection between indoor and outdoor learning spaces. The school is conceived as a flexible and multifunctional environment that supports not only education but also community activities. An important part of the project is the solution of transport accessibility in broader territorial relations. In connection with the establishment of the new catchment school, the proposal includes the enhancement of pedestrian and cycling infrastructure, including links to the regional network of cycle paths, as well as improved access by public transport through the creation of new public transport stops. The school thus contributes to sustainable modes of transport and to the improvement of public space quality. The architectural solution is based on respect for the scale of the village, careful massing, and the use of materials appropriate to the local context. The design also incorporates principles of sustainability, a focus on the quality of the indoor environment, and the creation of a safe, legible, and stimulating environment for pupils and teachers. The proposed school becomes an important public building and a natural center of education and community life in the region.
