Annotation

This master thesis focuses on the design of a movement and relaxation center in the town of Černošice as part of a broader urban strategy aimed at revitalizing and activating the central area of the town. The proposal responds to the need for creating high-quality public spaces that support everyday urban life, community interaction, and a healthy lifestyle, while naturally connecting architecture, movement, recreation, and local civic amenities. An integral part of the proposal is the incorporation of a bakery as an active ground-floor function that contributes to the revitalization of the public realm and creates a natural meeting place for residents. The thesis explores the transformation of the surrounding area through the optimization of pedestrian routes, the enhancement of public and recreational spaces, and the strengthening of the relationship between architecture and the urban landscape. An important aspect of the project is the urban connection of the site to the existing network of cycling paths, sports facilities, and recreational routes along the Berounka River. The proposal works with the principle of natural permeability of the area and promotes sustainable forms of mobility, particularly pedestrian and bicycle movement as an integral part of everyday urban life. A significant focus of the design is also placed on the materiality of the environment and the atmosphere of the public space. The architectural approach utilizes natural, tactile materials and a refined architectural expression in order to create a calm, timeless, and human-centered environment reflecting the scale and character of Černošice. Emphasis is also placed on improving greenery within the town center through the addition of tree-lined streets, shaded public areas, and measures that enhance both the ecological and microclimatic quality of the site. The aim of the diploma thesis is to create a comprehensive architectural and urban design proposal that strengthens the identity of the town center, supports the community character of the area, and provides a high-quality environment for everyday movement, relaxation, and social interaction.
