Pardubice lock

The diploma thesis examines the possibilities of reintegrating the neglected bank of the Elbe River into the urban organism. It looks for an approach to enter the location with a new polyfunctional development and lightweight bridging infrastructure that would create a natural synergy with the massive engineering structure of the existing lock. The aim of the proposal is to overcome current spatial barriers, connect the cultural and technological potential of the site, and restore the relationship between the city, the river, and the surrounding landscape.
