House of Culture Mladá Boleslav

The Cultural Center in Mladá Boleslav, designed by architect František Řezáč, is not only a significant and high-quality building within the city, but also a fine example of 1960s and 1970s architecture, preserved in its authentic form. Given its technical condition, the building is in need of revitalization; following the failure to have it designated as a cultural monument, there is concern that this valuable work may be lost. This thesis aims to assess the building and adapt it to the needs of a 21st-century municipal and regional cultural center. This includes defining the architectural values and qualities of the original building in the interest of its future development. The design section of the thesis addresses architectural, structural, and energy (economic) issues at the conceptual level. A new forecourt and parking garage are being created.
