Annotation

The topic of this diploma thesis is the design of a sports complex in Ústí nad Orlicí. Its aim is to support the development of year-round sports activities in the town. Although Ústí nad Orlicí has good facilities for outdoor sports, the current offer of indoor sports facilities for regular use throughout the year is not sufficient. This limits the possibilities for doing sports during the winter months and also affects the development of the local sports community. The proposed sports complex responds to this need and tries to make meaningful use of a site with strong potential. The location is important because it is connected to an already well-developed and attractive area for sports activities. The project of indoor sports halls is designed as a flexible structure that can be used for a wide range of sports, regardless of the season or the age of the users. The aim of the thesis is to create an architectural design that will not only expand the sports infrastructure of the town, but also strengthen the continuity of the area. The project should support meetings, the development of the sports community and other social groups, and contribute to the long-term sustainable development of the urban environment. The sports complex is understood not only as a place for physical activity, but also as a social and urban element that has the potential to become a natural part of everyday life in the town.
