Housing for healthcare professionals Karlovy Vary

Architecture is not merely an aesthetic or technical discipline. At its most fundamental level, it is a social discipline that responds to the current needs of society and aspires to solve its pressing problems through the organization of space. One of the most prominent issues facing the contemporary public sector in the Czech Republicspecifically in structurally disadvantaged regionsis the stabilization of human resources within key state infrastructures. Healthcare, as the backbone of the social security system, is facing an unprecedented workforce capacity crisis in the Karlovy Vary Region. This crisis is not primarily caused by a shortage of medical school graduates, but rather by the region's inability to retain a qualified workforce in competition with central regions and, in particular, with neighboring Germany. This thesis aims to examine the architectural and urban design potential for the development of housingspecifically, a residential complex for doctors and nurses. The project responds to the demand for high-quality, accessible, and professionally-oriented housing that would serve as a crucial non-financial benefit in the recruitment of employees for the Karlovy Vary Hospital (KKN).
