One Home Senior Housing

The current trend is clear. The Czech Republic is in an advanced stage of demographic ageing. Where are we heading? I propose One Home. Two Buildings. A Garden. A place that does not want to be an institution. On the contrary a place where ageing can happen with dignity. A place with small households and a shared garden as an additional room. Spaces for social interaction as well as introverted retreat. A place where care is not separated from everyday life, but becomes its natural part. A place capable of adapting to life changes, where the level of required care can gradually and individually increase. A place where care supports autonomy. My diploma thesis transforms this philosophy into a specific architectural proposal. I seek to create an environment that responds to demographic change and the specific needs of an ageing population, with an emphasis on preserving human dignity and individuality.
