The thesis focuses on the design of an office building in the Smíchov district of Prague and its integration into a transforming urban structure. The aim of the project is not only to create a functional and operationally efficient administrative building, but also to examine the suitability of office functions within an exposed urban area and define their relationship to public space, transport infrastructure, and the existing urban fabric. The proposal responds to contemporary workplace requirements, with an emphasis on flexibility, the quality of the indoor environment, and the creation of an active urban ground floor. The proposed office building is located in Prague 5 Smíchov, in close proximity to the Anděl transport hub, which represents one of the most important public transport centers in the city. The site is situated at the intersection of Plzeňská and Kováků streets, between the historic block structure of Smíchov and the large-scale transport infrastructure of the city ring road. The plot is currently used as a surface parking lot and represents an undeveloped gap in the urban frontage. The urban concept of the proposal works with completing the missing urban mass, activating public space, and creating a smooth transition between the compact city structure and the transport overpass. The architectural solution is based on the principles of contemporary office buildings, emphasizing flexibility of workspaces, variability of layouts, and a high-quality indoor environment. The design incorporates various types of working spaces, ranging from open-plan offices to smaller enclosed rooms, spaces for team collaboration, informal meetings, and relaxation zones. An important part of the concept is also the active ground floor facing the street, which connects the working environment with everyday urban life and supports pedestrian movement throughout the area.
