Completion and connection of the Dolní Vítkovice Moravská Ostrava area, Ostrava

This thesis examines the urban transformation of areas in Ostrava, specifically in the districts of Moravská Ostrava, Přivoz, and Vítkovice. The proposal focuses primarily on improving the areas accessibility and connecting different parts of the city, creating high-quality public spaces, and strengthening the citys relationship with the Ostravice River. This project focuses on the revitalization of brownfields near Dolní Vítkovice, which represent a significant development area in the broader city center. Today, the area is not sufficiently connected to the surrounding urban fabric. The main goal of the project is to create a new urban district, transforming unused space into a vibrant and fully-fledged part of the city that will connect the historic center of Ostrava with the Dolní Vítkovice area and contribute to the citys long-term development.
