LIFE IN PARADISE

An auction took place. The city matched the price and acquired the valuable plot of land. The building is planned to be renovated and transformed into housing. Urban, affordable, somewhat minimal, yet with a slightly higher level of comfort. In the former headquarters of the ÚSTR, I designed municipal rental housing. The ambition is to reuse the existing steel frame and convert it into apartments of an affordable standard. The target group consists primarily of couples and small families. Starter apartments, with the possibility of long-term use as well. An adaptable floor plan with variable layouts a flat that users can adjust according to their own needs. High-quality associated outdoor space. Žižkov-style access galleries. Use of prefabricated elements. Space for community activities. An urban composition that respects the sloping terrain and the surrounding context. An approach to the building as a landmark.
