Revitalization of the Bílá Nisa river in the Linear Park in Jablonec nad Nisou
Landscape Architecture
Annotation
Bílá Nisa and its surroundings represent a unique gap between a functionalist housing project and rural development. The sites it offers are spacious and diverse, but their use does not adhere to the functions of a park. Moreover, the riverbed, which was artificially rebuilt in the 1980s, does not utilise its place-making significance within the area.
The project works with a water management study prepared by the city of Jablonec and gives the linear park a secondary use. The distant riverbed becomes accessible to visitors while retaining its wild character and biodiversity. Social and recreational functions extend to the right bank of the river, opening up opportunities for events, games, or solitary strolls along the water.
The aim is to create a program where the residents of the area have not yet sought it and to further expand the possibilities for leisure activities in the surrounding area, which is rich in them.
