This bachelors thesis examines the area surrounding the Zlíchov railway engine house and develops a design based on a feasibility study. The design opens the engine house to the public, allowing them to experience the world of trains from a completely new perspective. A recreational space is created on the tracks, allowing locals and passersby to spend their free time there, as well as providing an alternative connection between the depot and MeetFactory or a link to a longer recreational loop. It also focuses on Ke Sklárně Street, which currently serves merely as a transportation link to MeetFactory. The design therefore transforms the uninviting road into a recreational zone that works with the noise coming from the Dobříšská Street. The goal of the design is to create a synergistic public space where visitors to both buildingsthe technical engine house and the artistic MeetFactorycan meet, while also offering a place for the new influx of residents to spend their free time. Through diverse elements, it highlights the inconveniences that are a common part of city life, suggesting that they can also be perceived with a certain degree of playfulness.
