Multifunctional houses Rychnov nad Kněznou

This bachelor's thesis focuses on the architectural design of a complex of five mixed-use buildings in Rychnov nad Kněžnou. The project responds to the specific characteristics of the triangular site defined by Mírová and Javornická streets, located in close proximity to existing civic amenities and diverse residential developments. The urban concept consists of five detached buildings arranged in a grid, which, through their form and scale, create a smooth transition between the surrounding high-rise panel housing estates and the structure of family homes. The design integrates commercial and community functions within an active ground floor, while reserving the upper floors for residential use. The solution also includes the revitalization of public space with an emphasis on park landscaping and the integration of residential parking into a shared underground level, thereby freeing up the space between the buildings for pedestrian paths and high-quality greenery.
