Elements Exhibition at the Faculty of Architecture

On Wednesday, April 29, the opening of the Elements exhibition took place at the FA, accompanied by a lecture by Adam Štěch. After stops in Milan, Ostrava, Vienna, Flims, and Royan, the exhibition has arrived at the Faculty of Architecture of the CTU in Prague.

For this exhibition, architectural historian and researcher Adam Štěch selected thousands of his own photographs, presenting them as an atlas of architectural and interior details. These elements were created by architects and designers as integral parts of their complex architectural concepts.

The selection—featuring lighting, seating, storage, tables, railings, doors, handles, windows, floors, walls, and other decorative or functional elements—celebrates the modernist idea of a total work of art, or Gesamtkunstwerk. It documents the breadth of skills possessed by modernist architects, spanning from Art Nouveau through Modernism and beyond.
