ZUBRNICE - CONNECTING WITH THE RUINS OF MILL VALLEY

Andersson

Annotation

This project invites visitors to experience the history of Zubrnice through both sight and story. As you read about the town’s past, you’re simultaneously offered a view of the mill ruins that once played a vital role in its history. The two architectural interventions are designed to catch the eye and spark curiosity—encouraging exploration of the surrounding forest. Positioned along the Luční potok river, the structures relate to two historic mill sites: No. 23, Fiedelmühle, and No. 40, Hutmühle, which are now two ruins covered by vegetation. The intervention‘s circular arrangements echo specific curves in the river’s path, helping the interventions integrate naturally into the landscape while guiding visitors‘ views toward the ruins.
