CONVERSION OF THE POWER PLANT IN HOLEŠOVICE
Annotation
The proposal envisions transforming the former power plant in Holešovice into a contemporary urban gallery in dialogue with its industrial past. Authentic elements—steel trusses, masonry, and the hall’s structure—are preserved and integrated into the new function. The concept is based on layering: clear, modest, and contrasting new additions that highlight rather than overshadow the original. The result is architecture that embraces the past as a framework for contemporary life, creating a new cultural meeting point for the community.
