SMÍCHOV WILD

The left bank of the Vltava is currently perceived primarily as a transit zone rather than a place to stay. The project transforms it into a landscape of slowing down, an intermediate space between the city and the river, where movement calms and attention turns toward the surroundings. Loosened riverbanks, wetlands, and floating vegetation restore the water’s natural rhythm and support life in the city, for both people and animals. The overgrown Smíchov as we know it is allowed to grow a little wilder still. A sequence of spaces emerges for staying, observing, and everyday encounters between people and nature.
