Community Housing for Seniors and Kindergarten [DOMA] ŽLICE

The topic of this project is the design of a kindergarten and community housing for seniors. The community housing is created by adapting a former care home, which was insensitively placed in the surrounding buildings due to its scale and appearance. To introduce a smaller scale, the building is conceptually divided into smaller parts with separate gable roofs and gables facing the street. The new kindergarten building continues the line of existing structures. The kindergarten offers three classrooms for a total of 60 children. A public outdoor space and a private kindergarten garden are also created. The façades are treated with different textures and earthy-colored plaster finishes. The complex of these buildings thus sensitively complements and completes the surrounding development.
