Annotation
Two new museum buildings are rising on the Republic Square, which together complete and enclose its space. With their volume and composition, they end the streets of V Celnici and U Obecního domu and connecting to the historical wall belt from Na Příkopě to the Vltava River.
With its shape, the House of Arts sensitively responds to the street structure and corners of the Republic Square. With its mass, it unifies and encloses them. Inside, two open floors of generous exhibition halls are developed, ready to receive diverse works of art. The highest exhibition space is bathed in soft northern light, which calmly descends into the interior through high skylights. These skylights also create the characteristic identity of the building and complete the roof landscape of the Republic Square.
