Smíchov Gallery

The proposed gallery is located in the dynamic environment of Prague's Smíchov district, at the intersection of Strakonická Street and the railway viaduct near Smíchov Station. The design responds to the strong urban context in terms of mass, operation, and expression. The gallery is conceived as an open whole with a single entrance and smooth visitor flow. The central space is an atrium with a spiral staircase. The exhibition spaces are located on the upper floors and work with various load-bearing systems. The top floor offers a café and terrace with views of Prague. The architectural expression is shaped by the facades – the north facade with targeted views, the south facade with controlled daylighting.
