Náměstí Republiky - Art hall

Jan Fišer

Annotation

Náměstí Republiky, in its current form, functions more as a complex traffic junction than as a fully developed public square. The space appears fragmented, lacking clear boundaries and a legible spatial structure. The most critical point is the outlet of V Celnici Street, which disrupts the enclosure of the square. In my proposal, I narrow the street corridor and close the visual opening to strengthen the perception of the space as a unified whole. I also adjust the paving to unify the surface and restore the former monastery gardens, opening them to the public. These interventions give the square a clearer spatial and functional form.
