Re - Embassy, Reconstruction of the Czech embassy in Berlin

From a spaceship to student cohousing? In the middle of Berlin stands the Czech embassy building, which is looking for a new use of its architectural potential. The project is dedicated to transforming the last three floors of the building into student community housing. Our goal was to separate the administrative spaces of the embassy from the cohousing spaces. The student housing is connected by a light-filled corridor, from which there are entrances to the individual apartments, which contain both social spaces for multiple rooms and shared bathrooms. Access to the housing on the upper floors is made possible thanks to a red spiral staircase, which does not interfere with the administrative spaces of the embassy and is at the same time a new, distinctive element, thanks to which it is c
