PROPOSAL FOR A NEW MULTI-FUNCTIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF THE STRAHOV DORMITORIES

The project addresses the inadequate state of the Strahov dormitories by replacing the monofunctional site with a compact urban block. The urban composition maintains the axis between the stadium and the observatory, complemented by a pedestrian zone with new tree planting. The building consists of eight segments arranged around a central atrium, ensuring natural light for the interior. The ground floor is reserved for CTU facilities and commercial services. Residential floors with study rooms combine corridor and gallery systems. Glazed connecting bridges serve as shared kitchens, while open staircases encourage social interaction among students.
