New Family
Annotation
Home is not defined by blood, but by presence — by those who stay even when they do not have to. Architecture has the power to create and sustain such bonds, not merely by building walls, but by shaping closeness, safety, and mutual care. This project focuses on creating space for people most harmed by society’s silent neglect: women with a history of domestic violence and youths rejected by their own families. The design contrasts simple, protective residential blocks oriented toward greenery with active community centers where different groups meet, share stories, and exchange experience. The aim is to create an environment that supports healing, reintegration, and the formation of a “chosen family.”
