Unplanned hospice and clinic?

Bc. Hong Phong Vu

Annotation

This project proposes a healthcare complex for the new masterplan of Rohanský Island. The architectural concept builds on groups earlier analysis of “unplanned” urban structure—drawing especially from the spatial logic of Malá Strana. The core programme is a polyclinic dimensioned for a catchment of approximately 11,000 residents, with staffing calibrated accordingly. Alongside this, the project addresses a highly sensitive and still scarce typology: a hospice, here developed specifically as a children’s hospice. The design is based on a modular system of units that can be positioned, oriented, and connected to respond to changing needs. Ultimately, the work aims to open discussion on palliative care while also testing how architectural order can emerge from planned chaos.
