New Meander

IMPERIAL MEADOW AS A LANDSCAPE OF RECREATION, PEACE AND SUSTAINABILITY The proposal for a new concept for the Imperial Meadow island works with the potential of the area as a unique natural island in the wider centre of Prague. The aim is to create a functionally diverse, landscape-sensitive and long-term sustainable space that connects recreation, sports, culture and quiet residential areas. A NEW MEANDR becomes the main spatial and ideological motif of the island: it shapes the route, residential areas, relationship to water and the character of individual parts. The island is understood as a sequence of situations, not as a homogeneous park. The individual parts seamlessly connect to each other, changing in scale, openness and atmosphere.
