Annotation

Where does the certainty of a house end? In its mass, or in what is missing from it? What happens when its weight remains below and lightness, movement, everydayness appear above? What does it mean to live above an institution? Is it a superstructure, or an inversion of hierarchy? And can everyday life exist above architecture, which was designed as definitive? When mass is bitten off, does loss or space arise? Is the missing piece of the facade a disruption of order, or its refinement? How to read a facade that no longer forms a coherent image, but is composed of layers of different times? Does the house still have one face, or does it break up into views, vistas and fragments? How many interventions are needed for the house to begin to doubt?
