PALIMPSEST

Located at the heart of a former railway site, the project asserts an architecture of coexistence, conceived as a palimpset of uses and time layers. It promotes manual craftsmanship by offering young artisans and the public open, flexible, shared workshops, while respecting existing industrial activities. The intervention aligns with the site’s horizontal character, extending railway lines through a series of volumes. A through café becomes a threshold space where visitors and workers meet to the rhythm of machines. Rooted in sustainability, the project preserves the existing and values local know-how. It blurs public and private boundaries, making productive activity a driver of urban life.
