GENERAL FAJTL HOUSE (Veterans’ Transitional Home)

General Fajtl was a Czechoslovak fighter pilot who fought for Britain and later became a victim of communist persecution after the war. His story of courage, loss, and finding home again perfectly reflects the theme of my project. In 2026, it will be twenty years since his passing – which is why I find it symbolic to connect his name with this work. In response to current events around the world, I chose to focus on a group that has long remained largely overlooked – veterans. Existing accommodation options for veterans are limited, so I am creating a comprehensive community housing project that brings together veterans, first responders, and the general public.
