HOUSE OF ARTS ON REPUBLIC SQUARE

Republic Square currently appears as an open and disorganized space with a constant chaotic movement of people and traffic. It is difficult for a person to orient themselves and feel comfortable in this space. To solve this problem, I designed a support point at the end of V Celnici Street – an art hall, which will enclose the space and give it a cultural and public face. The ground floor, glazed and open, supports the heavy stone walls of the hall. The building not only contains art, but also becomes art itself through its sculptural form. The space in front of the building provides an environment for a view of the entire square and for organizing public and cultural events. The newly created “monastery” garden inside offers a quieter and more private environment.
