Second Life of Public Lighting

The main concept of the design is the upcycling of existing public lighting poles, which are commonly replaced due to material degradation at ground level. The design reuses waste material and focuses on its transformation into a new lighting fixture. The formal solution is derived from the characteristic pipe connections of the original lamps, which are intentionally used as the main expressive element. The aim was to create a clean, minimalist, and universal luminaire that can naturally integrate into various types of public space. The luminaire is designed to direct light primarily downward, minimizing unwanted light dispersion and helping to reduce light pollution. The lighting is targeted, functional, and environmentally considerate.
