Terra Rohan / Block D.IV

Dmytro Markus

Annotation

Block D.IV is located in Prague–Karlín on Rohanský Island and forms part of a broader urban development study. The design responds to the context of a new urban district, emphasizing a clear block structure, appropriate scale, and the quality of public space. The architectural concept is based on a simple and legible volume, shaped by the rhythm of loggias and horizontal façade articulation. Warm-toned exposed concrete gives the building a calm yet distinctive character. The ground floor is conceived as active, with commercial spaces facing the public realm, while the upper floors are dedicated to housing with functional and rational layouts. The proposal aims to balance architecture, public space, and human scale.
