Starting housing Modřany
Annotation
The project focuses on the design of starter housing in Modřany, Prague. The building has four above-ground floors and one underground floor, which functions as an active ground floor due to the sloping terrain. The basement is designed as a reinforced concrete structure, while the above-ground floors are made of timber using load-bearing GLULAM columns and beams combined with CLT panels. Although this construction system is still uncommon in local housing developments, it has the potential to become more widely used in the future. The design concept emphasizes varying levels of social interaction, ranging from private apartments to shared terraces, common rooms on each floor, and a publicly accessible coworking space on the ground floor.
