I designed a five-storey apartment building as part of a new block development with the emphasis on not only offering high-quality and pleasant living inside the apartments, but also supporting good relationships between people and creating valuable interspaces. I designed the apartments to have different qualities depending on their orientation – towards the quiet courtyard they are extended with balconies and have contact with a semi-public space, while towards the street they are designed with glazed kitchens that can be opened and adapted to the seasons and everyday use. The house is complemented by community functions on the ground floor and a residential roof, which expand the possibilities of joint use and connect the house with the public space of the new district.
