STRAHOV COMMONS

The new student dormitory in Strahov replaces the former Blocks 11 and 12 and explores how housing can actively support community life. The curved form of the building creates a protected inner space – a plaza – used for meeting, passing through and staying. The main theme of the project is “commons”, shared spaces that extend life beyond individual rooms. The design combines a rational layout with a softer overall form and creates a place that is not just about sleeping, but about everyday life among people.
