WoodPoP Dara Award

BcA. Diana Brablcová

Annotation

In designing the award, I drew inspiration primarily from the name and symbol of the Dara competition—a Celtic knot representing the strength of the oak and interconnectedness. These meanings formed the starting point of the design. The aim was to create a compact object held together solely through the cooperation of all its parts. The design is inspired by Celtic knots and wooden joinery. The result is an award based on a modular principle, where form and structure naturally complement each other. The object consists of three identical oak elements that interlock to form a solid knot, completed by a glass element made of optical glass. The award thus serves not only as a prize for the winner, but also as a symbolic and playful expression of timber construction.
