City Museum and Gallery Ústí nad Labem

Annotation

The City Museum and Gallery building, together with the City Library, the Hotel, and the Regional Office, forms a gateway to Ústí nad Labem—in connection with the planned high-speed rail terminal. The museum and gallery building combines exhibition, educational, and community functions. The ground floor is designed as a public space with a foyer, café, museum shop, and space for commercial use. The upper floors offer space for temporary and permanent exhibitions; with one dedicated to the recent discovery of mammoth remains in Bukov. The design emphasizes clear visitor navigation, flexibility of exhibition spaces, and controlled natural lighting. The structural and material solution combines robustness of the concrete façade with the openness of the glass foyer spanning multiple floors.
