Redevelopment of Albrechtice and Jezeří

The urban design proposal is situated within the territory of the former village of Albrechtice in the Most region, in direct connection with the Jezeří Chateau complex and the edge of the ČSA open-pit mine. The proposal responds to a landscape heavily shaped by mining activities and works with the idea of restoring a place whose one part was completely excavated while another part of the original terrain has been preserved. The concept is based on the creation of a new settlement with residential as well as recreational and tourism functions, following the historical footprint of the original village. The site slopes towards the mine, and the proposal makes use of this characteristic in shaping public spaces and landscape connections.
